From this video,the teacher uses the most common greetings “how are you?” at the first beginning of the class. So the students can give a response “I am fine , thank you “quickly and ask the teacher the same question. Then, the teacher answers pretty good. So the relationship between the students and teacher become closer. After the greetings,the teacher does not come into the text at once. Instead, she divides the students into 3 groups and plays a famous song related to the competition to stimulate the students and arise the students’ interest. Because everyone wants to win the game and really want to be the winner. So it is a very good beginning.
During the class,the teacher give the students a clear structure of this lesson dividing her class into 4 four parts listening, speaking, summary,and homework. In the process of of the teaching,the teacher come up with the new words during the practice and listening instead of teaching her students all the new vocabulary immediately as the traditional English teaching. In addition, she put a video in the ppt, so the students can enjoy the beautiful scenery during their learning. What impressed most is the large dice in ppt. Students can choose the left or right dice to get their points.what’s more, the teacher is good at praising the students when they did a good job. It seems that all the students enjoy the learning in her class instead of waiting for the class coming to an end. There are also different kinds of group work. We can see that all the students are actively involved in the class.
In conclusion, the teachers not only give the chance to the students think by themselves but also train their listening and speaking skills by listening to the tape in class and have role play in front of all the students. At the same time , they are supposed to finish the exercise and win the game, which means all the students will try their best to pay more attention to the class instead of thinking other unrelated things. The whole class is filled with excitement and energy. As for the teacher,her pronunciation is so clear that every students can understand even though she does not speak Chinese. During her teaching, she is always smiling, which makes the students glad to listen to her.
However, as far as I am concerned, there are some disadvantages in her teaching. Firstly, there is no lead in section in her teaching. She just directly tells the students what they are going to learn in this class. As I see it , the teacher can set up a specific situation of asking direction. For example, teacher can tell the students that she could not find her way to the bank, anyone of you know how to get there,after the class ,you are supposed to show me the way. So ,next, the students will listen to teacher carefully. Secondly, the teacher uses the English all the time and did not speak a Chinese. Sometimes, it will confuse the students when meet with difficult word to some degree. When the teacher says that PK means a competition, it is a partner work. Is not it? Yes? In this section, the students does not give a feedback, she could not wait for the students to give a response and just skip to the next question. She says that team A -B -C do you want to win? As for the contents of her design, there are too many listening tasks and exercises. Usually, students will not have enough time and energy to finish all of them. Students have to finish the true or false and fill in the blank while listening to the tape.
On the whole,I really enjoy he design of this lesson. She incorporated the listening, speaking, reading, and writing into her lesson.

First of all, at the very beginning of class ,the teacher asks the students to read the tongue twister. “Can you can a can as a canner can can a can” and “I wish to wish the wish you wish to wish,but if you wish the wish the witch wishes, I won’t wish the wish you wish to wish”. The two sentences are very simple and very easy for the students to read them out and there is no doubt that it will stimulate the students’ interest and arise their eagerness to learn English. However, she spends almost 5 minutes in asking the students to read it. I don not think it is related to today’ topic “where is my shool bag?”
Secondly, it seems that the teacher and student have never seen each other before, so it does not matter for the teacher to talk about herself. But , I think there is no need for the teacher to talk about herself for such a long time. Besides, she even puts her name and photo on the ppt and even her son’photo in order to ask students to guess where does she from and who the boy is. All the students are supposed to give a answer and give the reason why they choose it . So , the teacher spends almost one third of her whole class in leading in the topic. It is not meaningful in some way. In my view, the teacher should just give a brief introduction of herself and lead in the topic directly. In some degree, students will have a good knowledge of the teacher better and their relationship will become closer and close. Thus , the class will go on smoothly without much trouble.
Thirdly , when the teacher finally come in to the topic. She does not teach all the new words in the textbook as the way of the traditional teaching. Instead, she points out that the new words for the students in the process of her teaching. I think it is very reasonable. What is more, the teacher set up the real situation to talk about the her topic. Firstly , she lets the students guess which room belongs to her and ask them to write down the things in her room on their paper,. Then , ask the students to speak out what they have seen in the picture. In this way, she changes the textbook situation into real situation. On the other hand, however, there is no conversation and role play in her class. In my opinion, the teacher can ask the students to have a role play and practice the conversation so as to be familiar with the new words and sentences.
After that, the teacher begins to teach the students the passages of two girls, one is tidy, the other is untidy. When the teacher ask her students to retell the story, she encourages the students to listen carefully and clap her hands with all the students. In addition, she encourages the student to draw the pictures to describe the place of the things, so, the students can have a good understanding of the new word clearly.
Finally, what impressed most is the ending of the teaching. The teacher not only teach the students the textbook knowledge, but also put more emphasis on the emotional goal. She tells her students that we should learn from Kate and be tidy,we should put our thing in order and keep our room clean and nice. Maybe, this is the most important point of this lesson. When the class is over, the teacher assign a n interesting homework to draw a picture of your ideal room and write a passage.
In conclusion, the design of the lesson is reasonable. The students can take part in the class actively. There are also some shortcoming in this lesson. For example, There is no group work and partner work in the process of the teaching.
